The Honda S2000 has deservedly earned its reputation as a modern classic. It employs a modernized take on all of the traditional sports car ingredients: handsome two-seat roadster bodywork (with electric roof), rear wheel drive, independent suspension and disc brakes all round, a manual transmission, almost perfect weight distribution, and a high-revving naturally-aspirated engine. As a Honda product, this last bit is taken particularly seriously: a 9,000 RPM fuel cutoff and 120 horsepower per liter make it one of the most lively sports car engines of all time. Well on its way to icon status, the S2000 offers good old-fashioned sports car excitement without the headaches: they’re genuinely viceless cars that are easy to own and an absolute blast to drive.
This particular example is finished in the stunning combination of Suzuka blue with blue leather interior and has covered just 19,000 miles. As a 2003, it comes from the final year of AP1 production, after which the S2000 redline dropped by 800 RPM. The car spent its life in Arizona aside from the most recent year during which time it was in California. An included service summary shows regular dealer maintenance and the car is free of modifications. It comes with original books and a set of new OEM floor mats still sealed in plastic.
